First-year goalkeeper David Dimitru successfully assisted the Bucknell offense in controlling a three-goal lead. Dimitru was a force to be reckoned with in the net, notching 10 saves and challenging the Mountaineers offense throughout the game.
- Junior attacker Shay Gillearn had a stand-out game offensively, tallying six goals for the Bison. Gillearn notched his fifth of six goals with a skip shot that found its way past the Mountaineers goalie and into the net.
- Junior center defender Hasan Mogultay stepped up for the Bison when he worked the ball around and rocketed a shot to hit the back of the net with 5:12 on the clock. Bucknell went unanswered for nearly three minutes, notching three consecutive goals.
- In the first meeting with Johns Hopkins, the Bison trailed 16-15 inside two minutes to play until junior attacker Jack Bruce and fifth-year attacker Andu Vlasceanu scored the tying and go-ahead goals to give Bucknell a dramatic one-goal win in Baltimore.
- Throughout the first half of play, neither team led by more than two goals until the Bison kicked off the second half with a 3-0 run.
- Bucknell had nine different goal scorers against Johns Hopkins.
- Sophomore attacker Aleksa Stefanovic and junior center defender Hasan Mogultay led Bucknell with four goals apiece. Senior attacker Walker Butler and Gillearn notched two goals a piece.
- Stefanovic currently leads the team in goals with 38. Shortly behind him is Gillearn with 32, and Mogultay rounds out the top group with 27.
- Bucknell is currently ranked third in the MAWPC standings behind No.1 Fordham, which remains undefeated, and No. 2 Navy, which has defeated the Bison twice this season. The Bison have two more league games coming up on the road at Fordham and Wagner before returning home to host the MAWPC Championship Nov. 17-19 at Kinney Natatorium.Â
- Up next, the Bison head to California where it will be playing three teams currently ranked No. 2 (California), No. 5 (Pepperdine), and No.14 (Pacific) in the nation.Â
