Tai Johnson Earns Bison of the Week

LEWISBURG, Pa.- Senior Tai Johnson of the Bucknell women's basketball team has been selected as the Bison of the Week, for the week ending Jan 16. Johnson starred in the two Patriot League games against Loyola and Colgate, collecting 36 points, six rebounds, four assists, and drawing 13 fouls. Johnson also played all but 24 seconds in both games.
The previous Wednesday against Loyola, Johnson played all 40 minutes of game action. She led the team with a then career-high 15 points. She hit 4 of 7 attempts from the field, including a key three-pointer to give Bucknell a comfortable lead. At the charity stripe, she poured in six out of eight attempts. She drew eight out of the 15 fouls committed against the Bison.
At home against Colgate on Saturday, Johnson once again led the way for Bucknell. She missed only 24 seconds of game action in the overtime contest. Her 21 points on 8 of 18 shooting led Bucknell and broke the career-high just established against Loyola. She effervesced in overtime scoring Bucknell's 7 of 8 points in the period.
For the season, Johnson is now averaging 6.5 points per game and 11.2 points per game in Patriot League play. She leads the team in field goal percentage for both season (.459) and conference (.481).
Bucknell lost to Colgate on Saturday in overtime and will host Army West Point this Wednesday at Sojka Pavilion. The tip is scheduled for 6 p.m.
