LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell University men's water polo team is set to return to MAWPC-East play this Saturday when it travels to No. 19 George Washington for a 2 p.m. tilt.
- The game will be the first of three home games for the Buff and Blue, who will also host Wagner and Navy this weekend in the nation's capital.
- Both teams enter the weekend with momentum, as the Bison have won six games in a row, while George Washington owns the longest winning streak in the program's history at ten games in a row. The Colonials have won ten games in a row after dropping their opening game to No. 11 Princeton.
- Bucknell faced the Colonials twice last season, splitting two matchups.
- In D.C., the Bison prevailed by a 14-10 score, breaking open a tie game at the half with a four-goal third period to take a narrow win. The Bison then scored three straight after the Colonials had cut the Bison advantage to just one with 2:29 to go to take a 14-10 victory.
- Doruk Ozar scored four goals for the Bison in the win, while senior Andu Vlasceanu also added three goals. The Bison benefited from a strong performance by Adrien Touzot in the cage, where the senior made 12 saves.
- In Lewisburg, the two teams battled in a defensive slugfest, with the Colonials taking an 8-5 win. This time, it was the Colonials who ended the game on a 3-0 run, with the visitors breaking a 5-5 tie with three unanswered goals to end the third as both teams were unable to find the back of the cage in the fourth.
- Several Bison posted career-best performances over the weekend, with Jack Lewis and Vlasceanu each posting new career highs in goals in a single game at seven and six, respectively.
- Bucknell has won six straight games for the first time since September 21, 2019, in which the Bison won seven games in a row from that date until October 19 of that season.
- After this weekend's solitary fixture, the Bison will return home for two games against Johns Hopkins and the Colonials on Saturday, October 8.
