LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell men's and women's basketball teams will host a "Seat & Greet" event at Sojka Pavilion on Sept. 23 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Fans are invited to come out and meet the 2022-23 Bison teams and watch some fun skills competitions, and it will also be an opportunity for new season-ticket holders to select and purchase seats on the spot.
All Junior Bison Club members are invited to arrive at 5 p.m. and eat with the teams in the McGee Room. Junior Bison Club memberships will be available for purchase that night for those not already registered.
All seats available to be purchased as season tickets will be marked, and ticketing representatives will be on-site to process sales. Please note that returning season-ticket holders will be contacted directly this week regarding renewals.
In addition to the opportunity to purchase season tickets, the evening will be a great chance to check out the new Sojka Pavilion court design and meet the Bison players and coaches. Alex Timmerman and Cecelia Collins will handle the player introductions, and there will be a 3-point shooting contest between the two teams followed by a dunk contest with the men's squad.
"I am looking forward to the Seat & Greet night, as it will be a great chance for our fans to get to know our guys and see some of the great personalities we have in this year's group," said men's head coach Nathan Davis. "The guys have been working extremely hard all through the summer, and I hope fans will take advantage of the season ticket opportunity on the 23rd. We are anticipating an exciting season, and season tickets present a great value for fans in our local area to see some very good basketball."
"The support we get from the community is something that makes Bucknell Basketball special," said women's head coach Trevor Woodruff. "We greatly appreciate any chance we get to engage with our fans directly, and we are looking forward to a fun night with the Seat & Greet event in Sojka."
The start of the 2022-23 season is now less than two months away. The Bison men's squad opens the season with back-to-back home games against Lebanon Valley on Nov. 7 and Niagara on Nov. 12. The women's squad debuts on the road against Saint Joseph's and Virginia Tech before welcoming Fairleigh Dickinson for the home opener on Nov. 16.
Note that the men's game on Nov. 12 will be the first half of the "Bison Dimes & Riding Time" night. The 4 p.m. game will be followed by a wrestling match against Oklahoma State in Sojka Pavilion. The men's basketball program will hold its Alumni Day that day and will be raising awareness for ALS on behalf of Patrick Behan '10, who is currently fighting the disease.
Combo packs for the basketball-wrestling doubleheader will be available soon at the Bucknell Campus Box Office.
