About the Bison

First-year head coach Laura Tyler-Cook and the Bucknell women's golf team make their 2022-23 debuts on Monday and Tuesday at the William & Mary Invitational at Kingsmill.
Tyler-Cook was a standout player at James Madison and qualified for two U.S. Women's Opens, and she has been a highly respected teaching pro in Central Pennsylvania for many years. She has previous college coaching experience at Susquehanna from 2013-16.
This is the 25th season for the Bison women's golf program, which debuted in 1998-99. Tyler-Cook is the fourth head coach in team history, following Brad Tufts, Kevin Jamieson, and Lisa Francisco.
Both Bison freshmen will be in action this week. Paige Richter will be playing from the No. 1 spot in the lineup, and Erin Drahnak will tee it up as an individual. Kelsey Yi, Tara Thomas, Kayla Yi, and Sahana Paravantavida will round out the lineup.
Thomas had the team's best scoring average last season as a freshman. She averaged 80.1, including a 72 in the final round of the Jackrabbit Invitational in Nevada. Thomas was Bucknell's low finisher at the Patriot League Championship, finishing T-18th at Navy.

The William & Mary Invitational

Bucknell will be making its 13th all-time appearance in a tournament hosted by William & Mary, but just the fourth in the Tribe's fall event.
The Bison played here last March at the Kingsmill Intercollegiate and finished 12th out of 14 teams. Bucknell posted team scores of 339-330-325. Cristina Canales was the low Bison for the week, finishing T-46th with rounds of 84-77-84. Tara Thomas had a strong finish with a 77.
The Kingsmill Intercollegiate was next up on the schedule in the spring of 2020 when the season was halted due to the pandemic.
