LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell women's track & field team received All-Academic honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Association (USTFCCCA), announced on Wednesday. In addition, seniors Michaela Bracken and Ashlyn Ramos earned spots on the organization's individual All-Academic Team.
In order for a team to earn the honor, the squad must post an overall grade-point average of 3.0 or higher. Bucknell posted a 3.44 GPA during the spring semester and possesses a 3.46 cumulative GPA. Joining the Bison on the list were fellow Patriot League schools Boston U., Lafayette, Lehigh and Navy.
Athletes eligible for the individual honors must have completed at least two semesters and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25.
Bracken, a chemistry major who graduated in May, currently holds seven spots on Bucknell's all-time top 10 performances lists. Over the past academic year, she set or tied school records in the pentathlon, indoor high jump and 400 hurdles.
Ramos graduated with a degree in computer science, and she sits first in the record book in the outdoor distance medley relay, outdoor 10,000 and the indoor 5,000. She also ranks second in the outdoor 5,000 and the indoor 3,000. Ramos is the only Bucknell athlete to qualify for the NCAA cross country national championships twice.
