Tyler Dunn Named Patriot League Rookie of the Week

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Bucknell first-year Tyler Dunn has been named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday afternoon. Dunn, a native of Boiling Springs, Pa., earns his first weekly honor of his career. The Bison have now garnered two weekly awards this season, with Will Greer earning Patriot League Pitcher of the Week honors earlier this season.
Dunn posted a solid week for the Bison, hitting .389 with five RBIs and slugging .500 as the Bison went 3-2, earning a win over Mount St. Mary's and splits at Lafayette and Lehigh. Dunn picked up seven hits overall, finishing the weekend strong with back-to-back three-hit games against the Mountain Hawks. Dunn also added two RBIs against Lafayette in game one of the series, and has now tallied an RBI in six of his last seven games.
Dunn has been a mainstay at first base this season, playing 25 games with 22 starts. The first-year upped his average to .309 this season over the weekend, and his 20 RBIs this season rank fifth in the Patriot League.
Bucknell is back in action on Wednesday for a matchup at Penn State, before hosting the Leopards for a three-game series this weekend at Depew Field.
