Bucknell at a Glance
- After defeating Patriot League rivals Colgate and Boston University at home over the weekend, the Bison now head into a stretch of five straight away matches, including four this week. On Tuesday, the Bison make a quick trip to nearby Bloomsburg to face the Huskies, who are led by former Bison coach Rebecca Helt. Then it's three matches in three days in the state of Maryland this weekend, as Bucknell visits Mount St. Mary's and Patriot League foes Navy and Loyola.
- In Friday's 5-2 win over Colgate, the Bison spotted the Raiders the doubles point, then stormed back to win five of the six singles matches. Harrison Gold's three-set win over Jack Selati at No. singles was the match-clincher, and Michael Owen, Tim Zelikovsky, Ink Chen, and Nicolas Grunig all won in the 3-6 spots.
- Bucknell won the doubles point against Boston University on Sunday, with the 1 and 2 pairings prevailing by a combined 12-2. Owen and Zelikovsky blanked the Terriers 6-0 at No. 1. Gold, Nick Mueller, and Owen won singles matches to wrap up the team victory and boost the Bison to 2-1 in Patriot League play.
- Gold had a 4-0 weekend at No. 1 singles and doubles. He is now 10-4 at first doubles this spring, including a 5-3 record with Zelikovsky, 3-1 with Charlie Nordahl, and 2-0 with Mueller.
- Zelikovsky stretched his singles winning streak to nine with his straight-set win against Colgate's Benito Vlassis on Friday. During this winning streak, Zelikovsky has also had two matches in which he led halted with the team result was clinched. He is now 16-7 overall and 10-4 in dual matches in 2021-22.
- As a team, the Bison are now 10-4 in Patriot League singles matches. Â
- Rebecca Helt's Bloomsburg men's squad is 3-7 overall and 1-1 in PSAC action this season. The Huskies split a pair of matches over the weekend, falling 4-3 at home to Salem on Friday before blanking West Chester 7-0 on the road on Saturday. Â
- Mount St. Mary's has dropped four straight to fall to 3-9 on the season. Most recently, The Mount fell 7-0 at home to Navy on Sunday. They will host Gettysburg and travel to Loyola before hosting the Bison on Friday.
- Navy has had a busy spring with 30 dual matches already on the ledger. With 18 players on the roster, the Midshipmen have frequently split their squad and played two matches at two different sites on the same day. The 20-10 Mids have Patriot League wins over Boston University (4-0) and Lehigh (5-2). Most recently, one Navy group blanked Mount St. Mary's 7-0, and the other fell at No. 22 Columbia 6-1 on Sunday.
