BRIDGEPORT, Pa. – Bucknell senior Paige Furano has been named to the CWPA Division I All-Conference Team, the league office announced earlier this week. Furano now gives the Bison three straight CWPA First Team honors, after P. Furano, Ally Furano and Kali Hyham earned the distinction last season, with A. Furano also earning the honor in 2019.
P. Furano, one of the captains for the Bison this season, posted a solid weekend at the CWPA Championships. In game two against Mount St. Mary's, Furano tied the program record for points in a game with her three-goal, seven-assist performance in Bucknell's record-breaking 27-9 victory.
Furano ended the season with 44 goals to rank first on the team, and her seven assists in the win over Mount St. Mary's were one shy of the program record held by Emily Konishi. The senior has started each game this season, earning a starting role early on in her career for the Orange and Blue. The native of Stamford, Connecticut ranks 15th on Bucknell's career points list with 233 career points on 132 goals and 101 assists, and her 132 career goals also rank 20th in the Bucknell record books.
The senior has been an instrumental part on both the offensive and defensive sides of the pool for the Bison over her four years, contributing majorly to two of Bucknell's all-time highest finishes at the CWPA Championships in 2019 and 2021.
