Women's Tennis Closes Regular Season at Towson

TOWSON, Md. – The Bucknell women's tennis team fell to Towson, 4-0, on Sunday afternoon at the Tiger Tennis Complex.
The Bison (12-9, 3-3 PL) wrapped up their regular season with their loss to the Tigers (7-11, 1-4 CAA). They will next compete at the Patriot League Championship, which are set for Thursday, April 21 through Sunday, April 24 at Lehigh's Ulrich Varsity Tennis Courts. The bracket will be released on Tuesday, April 19.
Bucknell and Towson played to clinch. For the Bison, Tyne Miller and Laurel Utterback teamed for a 6-4 victory over Sarah Pospischill and Nadeen Shrebati at third doubles.
Daniela Bellini and Whitney King were narrowly defeated, 7-5, by Themis Haliou and Lea Kosanovic on the top doubles court. The duo closed the regular season with a sterling 21-5 record, one win shy of cracking the program's single-season top 10.
At singles, the majority of Bucknell's lineup played up one or two spots. Caroline Marcus was up, 4-3, on Lea Kosanovic in the second set when their fifth-singles match was cut short.
