Women’s Golf in Fifth Place after First Round of Patriot League Championship

RESULTS

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Bucknell women's golf team posted a 336 team score and is in fifth place after the first of three rounds of the Patriot League Championships, which is being hosted by Navy at the USNA Golf Course.

The Bison are two shots in front of sixth-place Holy Cross after 18 holes. The top four teams are separated by only nine strokes. Lehigh grabbed the 18-hole lead after posting a 304 team composite, two better than defending-champion Navy. Richmond is third at 311 and Boston University fourth at 313.

Bucknell's low round of the day was an 83 from Cristina Canales. The Bison also counted 84s from Sun Woo Jeon and Kelsey Yi and an 85 from Tara Thomas.

Lehigh freshman Madison Pineda is the individual leader after she posted a 1-over-par 73. Vicky Zhu of Richmond is one shot back.

Round two gets underway at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday. The Bison will be paired with Boston University and Holy Cross.
