Bucknell Men’s Basketball to Participate in 2022 Sunshine Slam in Daytona Beach

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell men's basketball team has been invited to the 2022 Sunshine Slam tournament on Nov. 21-22 at the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach, Fla. The Bison will play in the Ocean Bracket along with Austin Peay, Presbyterian, and UAlbany.
Tickets will be available for purchase through Bucknell's Campus Box Office in the coming weeks.
Georgia, Saint Joseph's, South Florida, and UAB will play in the Beach Bracket. There will be a pair of semifinal round games in each bracket on Monday, Nov. 21, and a championship and consolation game in each bracket on Tuesday, Nov. 22.
Bucknell and Austin Peay have never met in men's basketball. The Bison are 7-2 all-time against UAlbany and 1-0 against Presbyterian. Bucknell and UAlbany were slated to meet this past season, but the game was canceled due to COVID-19 protocols.
Bucknell's participation in the Sunshine Slam continues a long tradition of competing in early season tournaments in destination cities. Most recently, the Bison have appeared in events in Honolulu, Las Vegas, Orlando, and Cancun.
Matchups and game times for the Sunshine Slam, as well as the remainder of Bucknell's 2022-23 schedule, will be announced at a later date.
