LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell seniors Quin Berger and Achile Spadone were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Men's Basketball Team on Tuesday. Both earned the honor for the first time while leading the Bison to a strong fall semester in the classroom. The squad combined for a 3.35 grade-point average, paced by a perfect 4.0 from Berger.
In order to qualify for Academic All-District and Academic All-America honors, students must be at least a sophomore with a minimum 3.50 grade-point average, and they must have played in 90 percent of the team's games or started 67 percent of the team's games during the 2025-26 season.
Berger is an economics major with a 3.84 cumulative grade-point average. After missing all of his junior year due to a knee injury, he played in 30 of the team's 33 games this season with eight starts and totaled 94 points and 43 rebounds. Berger connected on 22 3-pointers, six of them coming at Mid-America Conference champion Akron, when he finished with a career-high 18 points.
Spadone earned his second major academic award of the season, as he was also named to the Academic All-Patriot League Team earlier this month. One of the league's top players throughout conference play, Spadone carries a 3.92 cumulative GPA as a psychology major.
Spadone started all 33 games for the Bison this season and averaged 12.4 points and a team-high 6.1 rebounds per game. He was even better in Patriot League play, logging 13.9 points and 7.3 boards per game. At 6'4", his 7.3 rpg ranked third in the league.
With injuries limiting Bucknell's rotation throughout much of the season, Spadone was a workhorse for the Bison. He played all 40 minutes in four of the last seven games, including all but 13 seconds in the team's two postseason games.
Spadone hit the 20-point mark four times this season, with a high of 24 in a win over Boston University, and he had three double-digit rebounding games. One of the highlights of the season was his 35-foot buzzer-beat at American on Feb. 4.
