Will Greer Earns Second Patriot League Pitcher of the Week Honor

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Junior pitcher Will Greer of the Bucknell University baseball team was named the Patriot League Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Greer, who earned the honor earlier this season after tossing eight scoreless innings against Navy, earned his fifth win of the season on Saturday in remaining unbeaten on the year with a 5-0 record. The win for Greer was the tenth of his career, and was his second straight complete-game victory against Lafayette in the span of a week.
The junior has been excellent in Patriot League play in particular, posting a 1.61 ERA in four outings so far this season. Greer's ten career wins now put him five out of a spot on Bucknell's all-time wins list, with six players currently occupying the tenth spot with 15 career victories.
In the win on Saturday in game one, Greer allowed just one earned run while scattering three hits and striking out two over seven innings. Greer's 2.65 ERA over the season is second only to Luke Rettig of Lehigh, and his 54.1 innings pitched so far this year ranks first in the Patriot League.
Bucknell will take on Villanova on Tuesday afternoon at 3 p.m. before traveling to Worcester for a matchup against Holy Cross.
