Women’s Golf Improves on Final Day at Bay Point

RESULTS
PANAMA BEACH CITY, Fla. – The Bucknell women's golf team posted its best score of the week on Tuesday, finishing Lipscomb's Lady Bison Classic at Bay Point with a round of 334. That was 20 strokes better than its second-round total and 15 better than its first-round score.
Three Bison turned in their best card of the week in the final round. Tara Thomas was the low Bison with an 81, and her 248 total over 54 holes was also the best on the squad. Thomas avoided major trouble in round three, finishing with nine pars and nine bogeys.
Sahana Paravantavida (82) and Morgan Sohosky (86) also improved their scores in each round. Bucknell also counted Kelsey Yi's 85 on Tuesday.
USC Upstate (916) came from behind to claim the team title by six strokes over Jacksonville State (922). Lipscomb (925), Wofford (927), and Georgia State (929) rounded out the top five. Upstate's final-round 297 was the best in the field.
The individual medalist was Becca Earl of Wofford, who fired a 1-under-par 71 in the third round to edge Upstate's Beem Pabsimma by two strokes. Earl compiled a 4-over 220 over 54 holes.
Bucknell will now have five weeks to prepare for its next tournament, the Jackrabbit Invitational in Boulder City, Nev., March 14-15.
