WINTER GARDEN, Fla. – Blake Wisdom carded a 1-under-par 71 to lead the Bucknell men's golf team to a 294 team score on Monday at the Bucknell Veterans Intercollegiate at Orange County National.
The Bison began the day in first place by one shot over Siena and Stetson after posting 292 in Sunday's opening round. They were only two shots off that pace on Monday, even with No. 1 player Jackson Bussell unable to finish his round due to injury, but Bucknell fell into second place after Siena fired a 7-under 281.
Wisdom made three birdies and 13 pars on the way to his 71. Jason Lohwater (74), Jack Gardner (74), and Michael Rudnick (75) logged four birdies apiece as the Bison counted four scores of 75 or better. Bussell had posted a 69 on Sunday and was tied for third place entering the second round.
Wisdom is 1-over for the tournament and tied for 10th place in a field of 55.
Siena had four players shoot even par or better on Monday, led by Nolan Crowley's 4-under 68. The Saints have a 36-hole total of 574, good for a 12-shot lead on second-place Bucknell. Stetson slipped to third with a 592 composite, followed by Chicago State and Missouri State at 602.
Bucknell's "B" squad compiled a 312 team score in round two. Josh Holtschlag, John Bradbeer, and Jake Maddaloni all shot 77. Holtschlag had the highlight of the day with an eagle at the par-5 14th hole.
