Men's Swim & Dive Wins Four Silver Medals at ECAC Championships

The Bison rise to third in the team standings
ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Bucknell men's swimming & diving team had three individuals and one relay team capture silver medals on the second day of the ECAC Championships, which wrapped up on Saturday night at Lejeune Hall.
All-Patriot League First Team members Chris Fabian (100 backstroke), John Gehrig (100 butterfly) and Chris Kopac (400 IM) all raced to runner-up showings, helping the Bison rise to third in the team standings with 244.5 points, 4.5 shy of second-place Columbia.
In addition, Kopac teamed with Sean Quinn, Alec Baker and Ed Park for a silver showing in the 800 freestyle relay.
Beyond Fabian, Gehrig and Kopac, 10 Bison qualified for Saturday's finals. Among them were all three of Kopac's 800 freestyle relay teammates: Quinn, ninth in the 100 butterfly, Park, 14th in the 400 IM, and Baker, 16th in the 100 backstroke.
Gehrig and Ryaan Hatoum (100 breaststroke) each clocked Bucknell's second-fastest time in his respective event.
Host Navy remains first in the team standings with 549.5 points. The ECAC Championships conclude tomorrow, with the preliminaries beginning at 9 a.m. and the finals following at 4 p.m.
