
Swim & Dive Completes ECAC Championships' First Day

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Bucknell swimming & diving teams competed at the ECAC Championships, which began on Friday at Lejeune Hall.
Through the meet's opening day, the Bison men are in fifth place with 85 points while the women's squad stands seventh with 74 points.
On the men's side, the 400 medley relay team of Alec Baker, Will Hedges, Chris Fabian and Justin DiSanto clocked Bucknell's fourth-fastest time (3:17.83) en route to capturing a silver medal.
Fabian, Hedges and DiSanto were also among the Bison's four individual finalists, with Fabian going ninth in the 50 freestyle, Hedges 12th in the 200 IM and DiSanto 14th in the 500 freestyle.
Noah Basista was the men's team's top individual finisher, claiming seventh in the 200 IM.
For the Bucknell women, Patriot League medalists Maddie Hartigan and Sabrina Vumbacco each scored points in an event she doesn't normally swim. Vumbacco went sixth in the 200 IM while Hartigan took 10th in the 50 freestyle.
Meagan Hathaway rounded out the women's team's finalists, placing 11th in the 200 IM. Both women's relay squads finished seventh.
Navy (242) is currently out front of the men's field while James Madison (223) has the lead in the women's standings.
The ECAC Championships continue tomorrow, with the preliminaries beginning at 10 a.m. and the finals following at 6 p.m.
