Women's Tennis Tops Seton Hall, 4-2

NEW PROVIDENCE, N.J. – The Bucknell women's tennis team topped Seton Hall, 4-2, on Saturday night at Murray Hill Tennis & Fitness.
The Bison (3-1, 0-0 PL) downed the Pirates (3-2, 0-0 Big East) in a match that was played in a clinch for singles format. Bucknell was led by a pair of first years, Whitney King and Anna Lajos, who accounted for two of its three singles wins; each also triumphed on the doubles court, teaming with Daniela Bellini and Madi Sebulsky respectively.
King moved to 11-2 on the season with her 6-3, 7-6 victory over Chloe Hamlin at second singles. She and Bellini also improved to 12-1 at first doubles with a decisive 6-2 victory over Arina Gumerova and Arabella Moen.
Lajos earned a hard-fought 7-5, 2-6, 6-4 decision over Oliwia Kempinski in the fourth spot, vaulting to 8-1 overall. She and Sebulsky also downed Kempinski and Emily O'Donovan, 6-1, at third doubles.
Tyne Miller picked up a win by default on court three, helping Bucknell seal its team triumph. Bellini's match with Gumerova at first singles was left unfinished; the duo were locked in a 3-3 tie in their third set when the match was decided.
The Bison return to the court tomorrow at 11:45 a.m. with a match at Marist.
