Men's Swim & Dive's John Gehrig Named Bison of the Week

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell junior John Gehrig of the men's swim & dive team has been named Bison of the Week for a second time this semester. Gehrig posted an outstanding weekend in Kinney Natatorium while helping Bucknell take first place at the 2022 Bucknell Invitational. He was also an honorable mention for Patriot League Men's Swimmer of the Week.
Over the three-day meet, which had seven other men's programs in attendance, Gehrig earned two individual wins, was part of three winning relays, and finished runner-up in three more events. He also added a number of program top-10 finishes.
The weekend began with Gehrig winning the 200 IM on Friday before teaming up with Justin DiSanto, Leo Kuyl and Chris Fabian to break the school record in the 200 freestyle relay.
On Saturday, Gehrig was part of the 200 medley relay team that clocked the second-fastest time in school history, the winning 800 freestyle relay, and finished second in the 100 butterfly.
To cap the weekend, the Charlotte, N.C. native added two more wins in the 200 butterfly and the 400 freestyle relay. Sunday's relay team finished second in the school record book and helped the Bison overtake Delaware in the final team standings.

Second Place:
200 medley relay – Chris Fabian, Justin DiSanto, John Gehrig, Leo Kuyl (1:28.63) – 2nd in school history
100 butterfly – John Gehrig (48.21)
Sunday, Nov. 20:
First Place:
200 butterfly – John Gehrig (1:46.38)
400 freestyle relay – John Gehrig, Justin DiSanto, Chris Fabian, Leo Kuyl (2:57.27) – 2nd in school history
