- Bucknell will head into the weekend looking to get back in the win column after a narrow defeat to Navy in sudden-death overtime on Sunday at Kinney Natatorium.
- The Bison led 9-7 in the first overtime period in the game, but the Mids responded with three unanswered goals to close the game to take the first game of the season series between the two schools.
- Head Coach John McBride earned his 196th win in charge of the men's program on Saturday at Mount St. Mary's, and needs just four wins to become the second coach in program history to reach the 200-win mark at Bucknell. McBride continues to chase history, where's currently 27 wins behind Bucknell Hall-of-Famer Dick Russell for the most wins in program history.
- Andu Vlasceanu also set a significant milestone on Saturday, where the senior surpassed the 150-point milestone in his career after a two-goal game against Mount St. Mary's.
- Fellow senior Adrien Touzot also found his way into the Bucknell annals recently. The native of Beirut, Lebanon entered the Bucknell career top ten in saves, where his 386 career saves rank tenth all-time. David Kennedy owns the career record at Bucknell with 1,002 saves.
- Bucknell will return to the Julian Fraser Memorial after missing out on last season's trip due to travel complications. The Bison last competed at the invitational in 2019, going 1-3. Bucknell defeated Fresno Pacific 12-7, before falling in three games against ranked opponents Loyola Marymount, San Jose State, and California Baptist all by two goals or less.
- In the win over the Sunbirds, A. Touzot made 15 saves overall, while Vlasceanu chipped in two assists. Jack Lewis also played in that game, scoring a goal.
- The 2019 tournament was also the last time the Bison met San Jose State. The Spartans, ranked 13th at the time, narrowly edged out Bucknell in sudden-death overtime, 11-10. Vlasceanu scored and added two steals, while Lewis also chipped in two steals. Touzot added another impressive performance in the cage with 12 saves.
- Bucknell last faced Stanford in 2021, losing 16-4. The Bison are 0-11 in the all-time series between the two schools. The Cardinal have spent most of the season ranked No. 1 before dropping their first game of the season against No. 3 UCLA, 10-6.
- Bucknell last played Santa Clara in 2018, falling narrowly to the Broncos by a score of 15-14 in overtime. Bucknell is 6-9 in the all-time series between the two schools, with the last two games going to overtime.
- California natives Colby Paine, Shay Gillearn and Jack Murad will all return to the West Coast this weekend, with all three hailing from the Bay Area.
- After this weekend, the Bison will return to conference play with a single road game at Fordham on Saturday, October 29.
