LEWISBURG, Pa. – After posting back-to-back shutouts against two of the top teams in the Patriot League, Bucknell junior goalkeeper Jenna Hall and freshman defender Meghan White received weekly honors from the league on Monday. Hall was named Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week, while White was selected as the Rookie of the Week.
Hall made a season-high eight saves, including a number of spectacular stops in the second half, to help Bucknell earn a 0-0 draw with Loyola. Hall made five saves in a fast-paced second half, and five of her eight saves in the match came on Patriot League points leader Baylee DeSmit.
Hall then made three saves in Bucknell's 1-0 win at Boston University on Saturday, which allowed the Bison to jump past the Terriers into first place in the league standings.
After posting her fifth and sixth solo shutouts of the season, Hall now has the Patriot League lead in goals-against average at 0.78, and her .830 save percentage ranks No. 2 in the PL. With 14 career shutouts, she moved into a tie for third place in Bucknell's all-time list alongside Sandita McDermott.
White continued her outstanding rookie season as Bucknell's right back. She played all 180 minutes in the two games last week, and she was part of a back four that limited Boston University's potent attack to only seven total shots and just three on goal.
White has started every game this season and ranks third on the team in minutes played with 1,086.
Bucknell has clinched a spot in the Patriot League Tournament and now has its sights set on capturing the No. 1 seed. With two games remaining in the regular season, Bucknell and Army currently share the top spot with 5-1-1 league records, and the two sides will square off this Saturday at 2 p.m. at Emmitt Field at Holmes Stadium.
