- The Bison return to action after a 1-1 weekend. Bucknell opened last weekend with a commanding 18-4 win against George Washington before suffering an 11-12 setback against No. 19 George Washington in the nightcap.
- Bucknell now stands at 10-8 on the season, and is now 7-3 in MAWPC contests this fall. The Bison are currently third in the standings with 14 points, trailing only the Colonials (9-0) and Fordham (8-0), who will meet in the Bronx this weekend for the first of two matchups between the unbeaten institutions. Bucknell has lost the three matchups against Fordham and George Washington by three goals or fewer in each instance.
- The matchups against The Mount and Navy are the first of two scheduled meetings for Bucknell this season. Mount St. Mary's enters the weekend one spot behind Bucknell in fourth with a 5-4 conference record through nine games while Navy currently occupies the sixth spot in the conference standings with a 4-3 record.
- Bucknell's emphatic victory against the Blue Jays on Saturday was the fourth time this season that the Bison have accounted for 18 or more goals. The Bison scored 14 of the game's first 15 goals in the win, and the 14-goal margin of victory is the second-highest by the team this season after an 18-goal margin over Mercyhurst on Sunday, September 25.
- Bucknell has now scored 212 goals this season, with 60 of those coming in the first quarter of play. The Bison scored seven goals in the first quarter in the two games this past weekend.
- Colby Paine netted three goals in the win over Johns Hopkins, which is a new career best for the senior. The native of Larkspur, California was one of three Bison to score three times in the win along with Shay Gillearn and Andu Vlasceanu. Against the Colonials, Aleksa Stefanovic and Hasan Mogultay each netted hat tricks in the defeat. Bucknell spread out its scoring over the weekend, with nine different Bison registering tallies in the win over Johns Hopkins, and seven different Bison scoring against George Washington.
- Senior Jack Lewis needs just two more goals to tally 100 goals for his career.
- Stefanovic continues to lead the Bison in goals this season with 47, while Vlasceanu has come on strong since missing the start of the season to rank second on the team with 33 goals. Four Bison have scored at least 20 goals this season, with Lewis and Mogultay chipping in 25 and 22 goals, respectively.
- Senior Josh Yardley, Bucknell's leading scorer last season, made his return to the pool for the Bison, chipping in a goal each game over the weekend.
- Four Bison have started every game this season, with Adrien Touzot, Stefanovic, Gillearn, and Ozar each starting all 16 contests to date this season.
- Bucknell swept two matchups against The Mount last season, taking a 12-9 win at home and an 11-5 victory in Emmitsburg on the final game of the regular season. Vlasceanu scored four times for Bucknell in the win, while Walker Butler and Matt Ryckman each had multiple goals. The two matchups are the only two meetings in program history for The Mount, which added men's and women's water polo during the 2020-21 school year.
- Bucknell will play in a shallow-deep pool for the second time this season in Emmitsburg against The Mount, with Bucknell also playing in a shallow-deep pool at George Washington on October 1.
- Navy and Bucknell played two close games last season, with the Mids taking both matchups by a one-goal margin. Navy defeated Bucknell 11-10 in Annapolis, before defeating the Bison 8-7 at Kinney Natatorium on November 7. The Bison had a chance to tie the game on the final possession at home, but the Mids forced a turnover in the final seconds to hang on for the victory. Touzot made ten saves for Bucknell against Navy in that game.
- Navy holds an 84-33 advantage against the Bison in the all-time series. Bucknell last defeated the Mids in the spring of 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic, opening the season with an exciting 12-11 overtime win in Annapolis. Vlasceanu, Yardley, and Lewis each scored multiple goals in the win, while Ozar also added a goal. Touzot made 11 saves in the cage for the Bison.
- After this weekend, Bucknell will take a break from conference play in traveling out west to the Julian Fraser Memorial, in which the Bison will take on No. 15 San Jose State, No. 17 Santa Clara, Fresno Pacific, and No. 1 Stanford.
