Bucknell Women's Cross Country Preps for Paul Short Invite

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell University women's cross country team is set to return to action after a three-week hiatus in competing at the Paul Short Run on Friday. Bucknell will compete in the Gold race at 11:45 a.m on Friday in a field of 40 teams that includes fellow Patriot League schools Army, American, Boston University, Lafayette, Lehigh, and Navy. Three of the top five teams in the latest Mid-Atlantic Region Poll will also be in the field, with Georgetown (1), Villanova (3), and Penn State (5), all in the Gold race.

- Bucknell will be returning to action for the first time since competing at the Father Bede Invite on September 11.
- The meet will be the penultimate meet of the regular season for the Bison, who will send runners to the FSU Invite/Pre-Nationals and the Leopard Invite on October 16.
- Ashlyn Ramos made her return to cross country at the meet, earning first-place honors by being the only runner in the field to break 20 minutes (19:48.2). Bucknell earned the first seven runners in the field, and ten of the first 11 at the dual meet against Saint Francis (Pa.).
- The Bison last competed at the Paul Short Invite in 2019, finishing 31st as a team in the Brown Race in the 46th annual edition of the meet.
- Several Bison who competed on that day are on this year's roster, including Karly Forker, Jamie Falla (149th, 22:56.8), Mia Bellucci (16th, 23:04.3), and Julia Tambaro (247th, 23:52.6).
- Olivia Dyer, Falla, and Lucie Kubinski also competed in 2018 in which the Bison finished 22nd of 43 in the Brown Race.
- Ramos and Emily Deschler have each captured individual wins for the Bison this season, with Deschler earning the win at the Bison Open to kick off the fall season.
- After the Paul Short Invite, the Bison will prepare for two meets. Bucknell will send runners to the FSU Invite/Pre-Nationals on October 16 in Tallahassee, Fla and the Leopard Invite in Easton, Pa.
- The Patriot League Championships are set for October 30 at Lehigh.
