About the Bison
- Bucknell tees it up in tournament No. 2 of the 2021 fall season on Monday and Tuesday at Youngstown State's Roseann Schwartz Invitational.
- The Bison finished 14th in a loaded field at Penn State's Nittany Lion Invitational last weekend. Bucknell posted team scores of 318-317-320.
- Sahana Paravantavida opened with an 80, then finished with 76-77 to finish as the low Bison at Penn State. Paravantavida was named the Patriot League Golfer of the Week for her efforts.
- Cristina Canales got off to a hot start at Penn State with rounds of 75-77 on Saturday's 36-hole day.
- Sun Woo Jeon finished with a solid 76 after an 84-82 start.
- Head coach Lisa Franciso will send out Morgan Sohosky, Paravantavida, Jeon, Tatum McKelvey and Kelsey Yi this week. McKelvey will be making her season debut not far from her hometown of Sewickley, Pa. Freshman Tara Thomas, an Erie, Pa., native, will make her collegiate debut playing as an individual.
- This will be Bucknell's first appearance at Youngstown State's tournament, which is named after former Penguin women's golf coach Roseann Schwartz (1996-2003).
- Youngstown State has hosted this event in seven of the last eight years, with the lone exception 2020-21 due to COVID-19. The host Penguins have won the last two teams titles.
- The Bison will be off until Sept. 25-26, when they look to defend their title at the Bucknell Invitational.
