Ali Campbell Joins Bucknell Field Hockey Staff as Assistant Coach

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Ali Campbell, a former standout student-athlete at Maryland who also has United States Women's National Team experience, has joined the Bucknell field hockey program as an assistant coach. Campbell joins head coach Jeremy Cook and second-year assistant Alexa Ostoich on the Bison staff for 2021.
"I could not be happier that Ali is joining us. She's an incredibly special person and is a very positive and forward-thinking coach," said Cook. "I've known her for most of her hockey life, and have really appreciated her progress as a player and now as a sideline leader over the years. I'm really excited on behalf of our student-athletes. Ali is a welcome and wonderful addition to our team."
Campbell joined the coaching ranks after graduating from Maryland in 2013 and has experience at all levels of the game. Most recently, she served as a varsity assistant and junior varsity head coach at Hershey High School during the 2020 and 2017 seasons. Campbell helped lead Hershey to a state semifinal appearance, a first-place regular season finish in the division, back-to-back Mid-Penn Championships, and a 20-6 record in 2017.
At the collegiate level, Campbell served as an assistant coach at Millersville University from 2018 to 2020, assisting the Marauders to two PSAC Tournament appearances. In the role, Campbell contributed to all areas involving practice planning, video preparation, strength and conditioning, recruiting, and budget management.
Prior to Millersville, Campbell spent five years as a coach and technical director for Nook Field Hockey Academy. She's also instructed private lessons since 2013, identifying areas of improvement and facilitating high-intensity training sessions. She's currently a USA Level 1 coach.
As a player, Campbell has spent time with the United States National Outdoor and Indoor teams, competing in international tournaments, series and games. Campbell achieved 37 international games played for the outdoor team and had the opportunity to participate with the Rio 2016 squad. She was named a USA Indoor team captain in 2021.
Campbell's other international accolades include back-to-back gold medals at the Indoor Pan American Games in 2017 and 2021, 2017 Top Goal Scorer and Tournament MVP honors, and a 2008 silver medal.
While at Maryland, Campbell helped lead the Terrapins to two NCAA National Championships and two ACC Championships. She was an NFHCA First Team All-American, an NFHCA All-Rookie Team member, and a 2013 womensfieldhockey.com First Team All-American. Additionally, she was named to the All-ACC Team as a sophomore and was the 2013 ACC Defensive Player of the Year. Campbell earned a bachelor's degree in family sciences from Maryland and is currently completing her master's in public administration with DeVry University.
Campbell joins a Bucknell coaching staff that earned NFHCA Mideast Region Coaching Staff of the Year honors in the spring after leading the Bison to a Patriot League Tournament title and a first-round win in the NCAA tournament.
