Men's Swim & Dive Welcomes Six Newcomers

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Head coach Dan Schinnerer announced the Bucknell men's swimming & diving team's six-man incoming freshman class on Monday.

"We are very excited to have this group join our team," Schinnerer said. "This class has the potential to make an immediate impact across many events. Because of the strength of this class, combined with the talent we have returning, we are confident that we will be a much-improved team next season."

The incoming freshmen hail from four different states: New York (3), New Jersey, North Carolina and Virginia. They are projected to compete in a variety of disciplines, with freestyle, breaststroke and IM being the most represented.

During the abbreviated 2020-21 campaign, the Bison went 1-2 and placed second at their Patriot League Challenge Meet with American and Loyola (Md.). They logged 16 program top-10 marks during their season finale, including three in the 100 butterfly, two in the 100 backstroke and two in the 200 freestyle relay. They lost six student-athletes to graduation, including 2020 Academic All-Patriot League honoree Garrett Sommer.Â
