LEWISBURG, Pa. – Matt Thorsheim and Patrick O'Hara of the Bucknell University soccer team each earned CoSIDA Academic All-District honors, the organization announced on Thursday afternoon.
Bucknell earned multiple Academic All-District selections for the first time since 2015, when Sebastiaan Blickman, Jesse Klug, and Chris Thorsheim each earned the distinction. O'Hara earns his second straight selection, while Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year Thorsheim earns the honor for the first time.
O'Hara becomes Bucknell's first two-time All-District pick since Jesse Klug earned the honor in 2014 and 2015. Klug went on to become a Third Team Academic All-American selection both of those years.
Thorsheim and O'Hara both earned their second straight selection to the Academic All-Patriot League team in May, and Bucknell was the only school in District Two to have multiple selections.
Thorsheim contributed two assists in his senior season, and finished his stellar career in the Orange and Blue with 14 goals and 12 assists overall. The senior finished his career having won the Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year twice, and became just the third Bison in school history to earn the distinction twice in his career.
O'Hara scored Bucknell's opening goal in a 2-1 win over NCAA Tournament participant American at Emmitt Field this season, and has now scored six goals and added two assists in three seasons for the Orange and Blue.
O'Hara and Thorsheim will now move on to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot to be announced in early July.
