LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell senior defender Chloe Christakos was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Women's Soccer Team on Thursday. A two-year starter at center back, Christakos was also a Second Team All-Patriot League selection this spring.
Christakos played every minute of every game in the modified spring 2021 season. She played a key role on a defensive unit that conceded only two goals in five games, helping the Bison to a Patriot League-best 0.37 team goals-against average.
Christakos scored the lone goal in Bucknell's 1-0 victory at American back in March, and that led to a Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week honor.
As a chemical engineering major, Christakos had maintained a stellar 3.54 cumulative grade-point average through the fall 2020 semester. She served as a chemistry tutor at Bucknell, and last summer she interned with Intel Corporation, analyzing air emissions data and researching pollution prevention standards. She also previously interned with Pfizer in New York City in the Environment, Health & Safety department.
Christakos now moves on to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team ballot. Candidates for Academic All-America must be at least a sophomore and have a minimum 3.30 cumulative GPA. Voting is conducted by the CoSIDA membership.
