BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Bucknell swimming & diving teams placed a combined 50 student-athletes on the 2021 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, the league office announced Monday.Â
Thirty women and 20 men were recognized on this year's Patriot League Academic Honor Roll. The men's team's number of honorees was its highest since 2012, when it led the Patriot League with 18. The women's team has now placed at least 20 student-athletes on the listing eight of the past nine years; notably, thirty Bison earned a spot on it each of the past two years.
On the women's side, Bucknell tied Loyola (Md.) for second in total of honorees behind Lafayette (48). The men's team was one of four with at least 20 selections.
During the spring semester, the women's team posted a combined GPA of 3.70. The men's team's combined GPA was 3.45. Seven Bison achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA this spring: senior Palma Foschi-Walko, junior Maddie Hartigan, junior Derek Knight, first year Kayla Lichtner, senior Jacob Lubinski, senior Maura McManus and junior Sam Miller.
Six seniors were recognized all four years of their time in Lewisburg: Lubinski, McManus, Kelly Cattano, Rachel Hazard, Nate Romanowski and Garrett Sommer.
Previously, Hartigan, Knight and senior Maggie Wyngowski represented Bucknell on the 2021 Academic All-Patriot League Team.
