Bison Rowing Team Places 10 on CRCA Scholar-Athlete List

LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Ten members of the Bucknell rowing team received Scholar Athlete Awards from the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) this week. To be eligible for the award, student-athletes must be in their second, third or fourth year of eligibility; they must have rowed in their school's NCAA or IRA eligible boat(s) for a minimum of 75 percent of the spring races or raced in a regional conference event; and they must have a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or higher.Â
Bucknell's 10 honorees this year are: Elizabeth Berlinger (Spanish and biology), Caroline Brandt (biomedical engineering), Christina DeMola (accounting and financial management), Kate Meerscheidt (anthropology and English/literary studies), Alex Rothstein (neuroscience), Anna Scheitler (English/literary studies), Chloe Segal (women's & gender studies and sociology), Katie Slade (accounting and financial management), Jess Volcheck (Russian and physics), and Olivia Zavrel (geography).Â
Earlier this spring, Brandt, Meerscheidt and Zavrel were all named to the Academic All-Patriot League Team after helping the Bison to a runner-up finish at the 2021 Patriot League Championships.Â
