BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Kali Hyham and Megan LaCroix of the Bucknell women's water polo team have been named the CWPA Division I Co-Players of the Week helping the Bison to a 2-0 week against Gannon and Mercyhurst. Â The honor for Hyham and LaCroix marks the third time a Bison has been honored by the CWPA this season, after Ally Furano earned the distinction on March 16. Â
The six-goal games for Hyham were a season best mark for the senior from Garden Grove, Calif., and the 12 goals in two games bring her season total to 30 goals already this season. Â
Hyham has excelled when playing in Erie the past two seasons. Â In four wins last season against Gannon, McKendree, Mercyhurst and Salem, Hyham scored 23 goals in earning CWPA Division I Player of the Week honors. Â
Hyham has scored at least three goals in every game this season, and moves into the eighth spot on Bucknell's all-time list with 185 career goals in the Orange and Blue.
LaCroix managed seven assists in the win over Gannon, one shy of the school record set by Emily Konishi in 2016. Â The sophomore added three assists and a goal in win over Mercyhurst in the nightcap. Â LaCroix leads the team with 20 assists this season, and the seven assists for the native of Saratoga, Calif. were a career high. Â Â
The Bison will return to action on Sunday, April 11 with games against Michigan and Saint Francis (Pa.)Â
