Men's Track and Field Hosts Second Home Meet of 2021 on Sunday

LEWISBURG, Pa. -- The Bucknell University men's track and field team will host Army and Lehigh on Sunday, April 11 for its second home meet in three weeks. The Bison will also host a distance carnival later in the evening consisting of several other Patriot League schools.

About the Bison

Bucknell enjoyed a strong outing in its last meet at Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium on Sunday, March 28 in winning a tri-meet against Saint Francis (Pa.) and UMBC.
The Bison won eight event overall, including Nicholas Marino winning the pole vault (16-0.75). Marino has finished in the top three in each of his appearances this season, and the mark in Lewisburg was a season best.
Anthony Zamarra continued his strong start to the year in setting a personal best for the second straight week in moving up to the seventh spot on Bucknell's all-time list (52-10.25).
The Bison finished second in their most recent meet at Lehigh in the Happy Easter Races last Saturday (123), just eight points behind the Bearcats (131).
Alex Dessoye took a win in the 400 (49.28), which is just off the season best for the senior (49.21) that he set at the Virginia Opener.
Jordan Montero won the javelin on Saturday for his third straight win in the event to open the season. The CoSIDA Academic All-District pick has now won four individual meets in his career, and finished fifth at hte 2019 Outdoor Championships.
Also picking up a win was Connor McMenamin in the steeplechase. McMenamin was the Patriot League runner-up at the last two Patriot League Championships, and won the event by over 11 seconds in his season debut.
Bucknell has earned the team title in its last five home scored meets at Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium.
