Men's Swim & Dive Takes Second in PL Challenge Meet

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell men's swimming & diving took second in its Patriot League Challenge Meet with American and Loyola (Md.), which wrapped up on Sunday at Kinney Natatorium.
The Bison totaled 802 points, placing them behind Loyola (1,274.5) and ahead of American (434.5). They logged nine program top-10 marks on Sunday, bringing their weekend total to 16.
Will Cadwallader completed his sweep of the boards, winning the 3-meter dive with a score of 277.15 good for fifth in school history. The day before, he took first on the 1-meter board (268.30). Christian Stef (200 freestyle) was Bucknell's other individual champion on Sunday.
Noah Basista (100 breaststroke) and Sean Quinn (100 butterfly) each finished second. Basista's time of 55.05 was good for third in school history, as was Quinn's time of 49.14.
Both of Bucknell's runner-up relay teams clocked the fourth-fastest time in the Bison annals. Fabian led off both of those teams, teaming with Basista, Nate Romanowski and Leo Kuyl in the 200 medley (1:29.98) and Stef, Kuyl and Matt Mills in the 400 freestyle (3:00.84).
The Bison placed four in the 'A' finals of the 200 freestyle and three each in the 'A' finals of the 50 freestyle, 100 breaststroke and 100 butterfly. Beyond Quinn, Basista and Fabian each logged program top-10 times in the 100 butterfly, with Basista taking fifth (49.31) and Fabian eighth (49.52).
Bucknell concluded its 2020-21 campaign by hosting this Patriot League Challenge Meet. The Bison finished their abbreviated season with a 1-2 (1-2 PL) record.
