About the Bison
- Bucknell (7-3, 4-2 CWPA) secured its third straight winning season under Head Coach John McBride with two wins over Mount St. Mary's and Saint Francis (Pa.) in Emmitsburg, Md. over the weekend.
- The Bison have managed at least 14 wins in each season since 2015 under McBride.
- Bucknell missed out on the CWPA Championship in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but earned its highest-ever finish at the competition in 2019, finishing third.
- Four Bison return from that team in Marcela Herrera, Paige Furano, Ally Furano, and Kali Hyham. Bucknell opened that tournament with a 12-7 win over George Washington, before falling to No. 15 Princeton. Bucknell then secured the third-place finish with an 11-9 win over No. 16 Harvard to secure a top-three showing.
- A. Furano earned a spot on the All-CWPA Tournament Team in the process, while P. Furano secured the win with a goal with one second remaining. The two sisters combined for seven goals in the third-place game.
- Bucknell earned the number two seed over the weekend with two wins over Saint Francis (Pa.) and Mount St. Mary's.
- Bucknell took a 20-3 win over the Mountaineers in the first game, allowing just three goals for the first time since a 13-3 win over the University of Toronto on March 3, 2019.
- P. Furano and Isabelle Monaghan each earned awards from the CWPA in the process. P. Furano was named the CWPA Player and Defensive Player of the Week, while Monaghan earned Rookie of the Week honors.
- P. Furano filled the stat sheet in the two games, combining seven goals, 10 assists, and 13 steals, Monaghan scored a career-best five goals in the win against The Mount, and also added three assists.
- This will be the third time in as many weeks that the Bison will take on Saint Francis, with Bucknell winning the first matchup 11-8 at Kinney Natatorium, before taking a 14-9 win in Emmitsburg last Saturday. Bucknell is now 10-0 all time against the Red Flash.
- Hyham, who was named the CWPA Division I Player of the Week one week prior to P. Furano, is five goals away from a top five spot in Bucknell history with 195 career tallies. Hyham has scored at least three goals in all but two games this season, and her 40 goals this year are second on the team behind A. Furano.
- A. Furano needs just 12 goals to reach 300 for her career and becoming the first Bison to ever reach the milestone. Furano's 375 career points also rank second in school history behind Kandis Canonica (423).
- Bucknell has secured at least one win in each CWPA Championship appearance since 2009, and has won its opening round game four times since 2012.
