EMMITSBURG, Md. -- A walk-off single by CJ Kozorosky in the bottom of the tenth inning lifted Mount St. Mary's to a come-from-behind win on Thursday afternoon. The Mount, which trailed 2-0 entering the bottom of the frame, scored three runs to earn its first win of the season over Bucknell. Sophomore Henry Novicki's two-run home run gave Bucknell its first lead of the day in the top of the tenth on its first hit, but The Mount rallied back with three runs in the bottom of the inning to earn a walk-off victory. Â
Â
Bucknell falls to 0-1 in its first action since a 5-3 win over Central Michigan on March 11, 2020. The Bison fall to 26-17 all-time against Mount St. Mary's. Â
Â
Bucknell managed only two baserunners through the first nine innings on a pair of Jake Wortman walks, but kept itself in the game through a solid pitching performance by starter Tyler Rigot. The sophomore from Charlotte made his first start since starting the opening weekend of 2020 against NJIT.  Rigot pitched four innings overall, striking out three while allowing just two hits on the day. Â
Â
Nicholas Sadd came in the fifth inning in relief of Rigot, and worked his way out of a minor jam in the frame. The Mount threatened to score after moving a runner to third with two outs, but heads up fielding from catcher Logan Kellerman and second baseman Caleb Broughton caught The Mount's Brady Drawbaugh stealing home in a close play at the plate.  Â
Â
The two teams couldn't get much going offensively through the rest of the nine innings. Chris Difiore replaced Sadd in the bottom of the seventh, and immediately made an impact by throwing three straight strikeouts to close the inning, and the sophomore from Mount Kisco, New York also struck out five out of the first six batters he faced. Difiore ran into a bit of trouble in the ninth after a one-out double by Kozorosky, but struck out Drawbaugh and forced a groundout to escape unscathed, and send the game to extra innings.  Â
Â
Bucknell grabbed the lead in the tenth inning with one out. Henry Novicki, who entered the game in the seventh, belted his second career home run of the right field fence for Bucknell's first and only hit of the day.  Chris Cannizzaro, placed on second at the start of the inning due to a COVID-19-related rules change in the 2021 baseball season, also scored from the play. Â
Â
However, the Mount managed to respond with three runs in the bottom of the frame to earn its first win of the season. The Mount managed nine hits to Bucknell's one, and left ten runners on base overall to Bucknell's two. Difiore, who was charged with the loss (0-1) managed seven strikeouts in 3.1 innings, a new career high.  Â
Â
The Bison return to Depew Field for the first time since April 2019 on Saturday for a doubleheader against La Salle starting at noon. Â Â
