About the Bison
- Bucknell began its season with a 1-1 weekend at La Salle at Kirk Pool in Philadelphia.
- The Bison dropped a 20-19 thriller in overtime in game one, before rebounding with an 11-9 win in game two.
- The Bison scored six unanswered goals in the first game to start the proceedings, but La Salle managed the game-winning goal just as the final horn sounded in the second overtime period.
- The game featured eight ties and six lead changes, and the 19 goals by the Bison were the most for the squad since February 16 of 2019.
- Senior Ally Furano led all scorers in that game, scoring seven in game one, one shy of her career high and school record eight goals she scored in the opening fixture against Marist last season.
- For her efforts, A. Furano was named the CWPA Player of the Week for the fifth time in her career. The native of Stamford, Connecticut is a two-time Honorable Mention All-American, and he eight points against the Explorers in game one were two shy of her own record for points in a game set against Gannon on March 2, 2019.
- A. Furano wasn't the only Bison to find goal scoring form out of the gate. Fellow senior and Honorable Mention All-American selection Kali Hyham contributed ten goals over the two games, scoring six in game one before following that up with a four goal performance in game two.
- Hyham scored two goals in the final minute of the second overtime to tie the game at 19, and will look to continue to build off of an impressive junior season that saw the Garden Grove, California native score 57 goals while drawing 72 ejections. Hyham scored at least four goals in seven games in 2020.
- First year Emma Molaski began her Bison career strongly, scoring two goals in game one in her first collegiate start before adding another goal in game two.
- Bucknell utilized a solid defensive effort in the game two win, with Paige Furano (6), and Megan LaCroix (5) combining for 11 steals in the win. LaCroix also added three assists for Bucknell in that game.
- P. Furano totaled ten steals between the first two games on Saturday.
- Sophomore Bella Moynihan accumulated five assists in game one for the Bison, which surpassed her total through 13 appearances during her first season in the Orange and Blue.
- Sam Gove made her collegiate debut in the cage for the Bison after spending her first year as a field player. Gove made five saves in two games for Bucknell.
- Michigan, ranked eighth in the most recent CWPA poll, has already played 13 games in 2021.
- The Wolverines picked up two wins at No. 13 Indiana on March 13, and have overall won four of their last five.
- Bucknell is 0-25 against the Wolverines, with the two teams last meeting on April 13, 2019 in Lewisburg.
- Michigan took a 16-6 win in that game, with P. Furano and Hyham scoring two goals each.
- The Mountaineers are making their collegiate debut this season, and are 0-7 to date.
- The Mount last played three games at Villanova from March 13-14, dropping three games to VMI, Villanova, and La Salle.
Bucknell will host its second straight home weekend on April 11 against Michigan and Saint Francis (Pa.)
