Jacob Corson Selected as Patriot League Rookie of the Week

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – First year Jacob Corson has been named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon.

Corson, who hails from nearby Muncy, Pennsylvania, helped the Bison earn their first win of the season, and has now hit successfully in four straight games.

In Bucknell's 4-3 win over Lehigh in Bethlehem on Saturday, Corson went 1-for-3 with a run scored, and posted a season-best three hits in Bucknell's 17-10 defeat to the Mountain Hawks at Depew Field on Sunday.

Corson's RBI single through the right side plated fellow first year Anthony Sherwin to give Bucknell a 10-9 lead on Sunday, and he also added two runs scored in the game. Corson has started five of Bucknell's six games to date, and has accumulated two multi-hit appearances already this season.

Corson and the Bison will host Army for four home games at Depew Field on Saturday and Sunday.
