Bucknell at a Glance
- The Bison wrap up the 2021 fall season at home on Wednesday night against first-place Loyola.
- Bucknell dropped a hard-fought 1-0 verdict at Navy on Sunday. The loss eliminated the Bison from postseason contention.
- Bucknell and Boston University are tied eighth place on eight points. Army holds the sixth and final Patriot League Tournament spot with 12 points, with Lafayette one behind on 11.
- Prior to the Navy game, the Bison played a 0-0 home draw with Boston University. It was a stellar defensive performance, as Bucknell limited the Terriers to just one shot on goal in 110 minutes.
- Senior center back Colin Eifert was named last week's Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week on Monday for his efforts in that clean sheet against Boston University.
- Sophomore striker Jordan Miller is tied for fourth in the Patriot League with six goals, one behind Lehigh's Jack Sarkos, Holy Cross' Evan Jones and Loyola's Kelan Swales. Miller's account includes an overtime game-winner at Lehigh on Sept. 29.
- Six other Bison have one goal apiece: Patrick O'Hara, Eddie Perez-Pelaez, Gabe Dahlin, Alex Clarke, Sebastian Paz and Jameson Railey.
- O'Hara has a team-high three assists and is second to Miller with five points.
- Clarke's penalty kick in a 1-0 win at Colgate came on Bucknell's first attempt from the spot this season. Clarke earned Patriot League Midfielder of the after converting a pressure PK in the 79th minute.
- Freshman goalkeeper Logan Kinajil-Moran made his first career start on Sunday at Navy, and he finished with three saves and just one goal against on a breakaway. Â
- The Greyhounds enter the final Patriot League matchday with 18 points from a 6-2-0 record, good for a two-point lead over both Holy Cross and American. Loyola can clinch the No. 1 seed for the Patriot League Tournament with a win at Bucknell. A loss or draw would open the door for the Crusaders or Eagles to grab the top spot.
- Since falling at home to Lafayette on Oct. 9, the Greyhounds have won their last four Patriot League encounters to ascend into first place.
- Most recently, Loyola defeated Army 1-0 at home on Saturday, courtesy of Jonathan Sousa's overtime goal. The Greyhounds outshot the Black Knights 16-4 in that game. Â
- Loyola features the Patriot League points (21) and assists (9) leader in Justin Ingram. Five of Ingram's six goals on the season have come in Patriot League play.
- Kelan Swales is tied for the league lead with seven goals, to go along with three assists. Swales has two-goal games against William & Mary and Colgate.
- Nine different players have accounted for the Greyhounds 24 goals this season.
- Loyola has one of the league's top goalkeepers in Chase Vosvick, who is 8-5-1 with seven shutouts in his 14 starts. Vosvick has 34 saves with 13 goals against.
- Bucknell is 7-2 all-time against Loyola, but the Greyhounds have won the last two meetings after the Bison took the first seven.
- The two teams met at Emmitt Field to close out the modified 2021 spring season last April, and Loyola prevailed 2-1. Loc San and David Gunter scored first-half goals for the Greyhounds, before Sebastian Paz pulled one back for the Bison in the 68th minute. The Bison came close to an equalizer but had a one shot saved off the line and another strike the crossbar.
