Men’s Soccer Falls on Road to Holy Cross, 4-1

WORCESTER, Mass. – Jameson Railey recorded his first goal of the season to tie the game in the 64th minute, but Patriot League co-leader Holy Cross answered 90 seconds later and then tacked on to more to defeat Bucknell 4-1 on Saturday at Linda Johnson Smith Soccer Stadium.
Max Krause notched a brace, including the go-ahead tally, to help Holy Cross improve to 8-3-2 overall and 5-1-0 in the Patriot League. The Bison fell to 4-8-2, 2-3-1.
Holy Cross saw more of the ball in the first half, but the game remained on level terms until Evan Jones scored his sixth goal of the season with just 27 seconds left until intermission.
Lots happened in the 64th minute, when Railey scored as Holy Cross goalkeeper Jimmy Joyce was sent off with a red card.
The 10-man Crusaders responded quickly, getting goals from Krause and Jake Williams scored just 64 seconds apart to make it a 3-1 game. Krause added a fourth for Holy Cross in the 87th minute.
Bennett Schwartz made three saves for the Bison, who were outshot 18-6.
The Bison have three games remaining in the regular season, two of them at home. Boston University visits Emmitt Field next Saturday at 12 p.m.
