Men's Soccer Earns United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award

Bucknell Has Now Earned the Honor 14 Straight Seasons
LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell University men's soccer program has been recognized by United Soccer Coaches for its work in the classroom for the 2019 season, the organization announced on Thursday afternoon.

Bucknell has now earned the distinction in 23 of the past 24 seasons, and for 14 straight years. The College Team Academic Award recipients include teams with a composite GPA of 3.0 or better for the 2019-20 academic year. The Bison carried a 3.16 GPA overall through 2019-20, and a 3.48 team GPA during the spring semester.
Individually, Bucknell also garnered numerous academic accolades last fall, including 2019 Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year Matt Thorsheim.
Thorsheim was joined on the Academic All-Patriot League Team by Nick King and Patrick O'Hara, with the latter also earning Bucknell's first CoSIDA Academic All-District honor since 2015.
Additionally, 14 Bison were also named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll this past fall. Bucknell was one of 341 men's programs to earn the honor across all divisions during the 2019 season.
