Swim & Dive Lands 46 on PL Academic Honor Roll

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – The Bucknell swimming & diving teams placed a combined 46 student-athletes on the 2020 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, the league office announced Tuesday.Â
Thirty women and 16 men were recognized on this year's Patriot League Academic Honor Roll. The men's team's number of honorees was its second highest since 2012, when it led the Patriot League with 18. The women's team has now placed at least 20 student-athletes on the listing seven of the past eight years.
All seven of the Bison's 2020 All-Patriot League selections made the Academic Honor Roll: seniors Emma Hadley and Abby Merriman, juniors Emily Gorham and Maggie Wyngowski, sophomore Maddie Hartigan and first years Catherine Craig and Sabrina Vumbacco. Garrett Sommer, the program's 2020 Academic All-Patriot League pick, also made this year's Academic Honor Roll.
Senior Brooke Collins was recognized all four years of her time in Lewisburg. Junior Kelly Cattano, sophomore Alexis Faria, Hadley, sophomore Derek Knight, first year Jacqueline Rounsavill and senior Paige Schoelkopf each achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA this spring.
To qualify for the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, student-athletes must have achieved a minimum 3.20 GPA during the semester in which their team competed. Due to the covid-19 public health threat necessitating a shift to online education, student-athletes who took all of their classes as pass/fail could qualify for the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll with a GPA of at least 3.20 from the preceding fall semester.
