LEWISBURG, Pa. – The 2014 fall season was a special one for the Bucknell field hockey program as it rolled to a perfect 6-0 record against Patriot League opponents during the regular season. The staple victory of the season was Bucknell's first-ever win against the Boston University Terriers.
The Terriers, who posted a 5-1 league record during their first season in the conference the year prior, had spent time in the national rankings just weeks before meeting Bucknell at Graham Field on Saturday, Oct. 5. Bucknell pulled out a 5-2 victory over the Terriers in one of the program's all-time great games. Five different Bison scored, and the team held a 22-3 advantage in shots.
The Bison went on to finish 13-6 overall, collecting the second-most wins in program history. Bucknell would eventually defeat Colgate in the semifinal round of the Patriot League Tournament after earning a No. 1 seed for the first time.
This Wednesday at 7 p.m., the 2014 victory over the Terriers will be shown on the Patriot League Network. During the viewing, head coach Jeremy Cook will conduct a private Zoom chat with Bucknell field hockey alumni. Alumni interested in joining the chat should contact Coach Cook: jac059@bucknell.edu.
