Men's Track and Field to Compete at Patriot League Indoor Championships This Weekend

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell University men's track and field team will look to improve upon a third-place finish at the Patriot League Indoor Track and Field Championships from Feb. 29-March 1 at Rauch Fieldhouse.

About the Bison

At last year's Patriot League Championships in Annapolis, the Bison had several strong finishes en route to a third-place finish overall.
Jeff Brown is Bucknell's lone returning gold medalist from the meet in the 60, as he tied his school record at the time (6.81) in the finals to take gold. Brown currently ranks first in the Patriot League with his school-record time of 6.78 set at the first meet of the season in December.
Nicholas Marino also had a solid day, taking fifth in the pole vault (15-9). Marino's personal-best this season (16-8.75) set at the Gulden Invitational ranks as the best mark in the Patriot League this season.
Marino has won four of his six meets he has competed in this season, topping 16 feet in all but one meet this season.
Senior captain Micah Sims will also look to improve upon an impressive fourth-place showing at last season's meet in the long jump (23-4.5). The mark was just shy of his personal-best indoors or outdoors (23-4.75).
Robert Dessoye, Steve Rizio, and Alex Dessoye were a part of a 4x400 team (3:18.39) that finished third overall. The Bison have improved upon that time this season, with Rizio, R. Dessoye, A. Dessoye, and Brendan Bodisch combining for a time of 3:17.19 that ranks tenth in the Bucknell record books. That mark also ranks third in the Patriot League this season.
C.J. Falcioni will be looking to improve upon a top-ten finish in the weight throw, as the senior has elevated his marks in the shot put and the weight throw this season in entering the Bucknell top ten in both. The Seymor, Connecticut native ranks fifth in the weight throw (60-7.25), and seventh in the shot put (53-3.75). Zach Ruiz ranks sixth in the shot put (53-9.25) while two more Bucknell throwers in Tim Guider (8^th, 50-8) and Anthony Zamarra (50-6) are currently ranked in the top ten in the Patriot League.
Stefone Moore-Green will look to make an impact in his Patriot League Championship debut. The senior, who was a wide receiver for the Bison football team in the fall, ranks in the top nine in three events in the Patriot League. Moore-Green sits ninth in the 60 (6.98), 4^th in the 200 (21.65), and second in the 400 (48.38). The senior from Sicklerville, N.J. has also posted top-ten Bucknell marks in each event.
The last time Bucknell competed at the Patriot League Championships in Bethlehem in 2005, the Bison finished sixth overall with 35 points.
Bucknell has had a meet to get accustomed to Rauch Fieldhouse this season, as the Bison competed at the Angry Birds Invitational in January.
The Bison took first overall at the meet, with Patriot League Cross Country Runner-Up Drew Dorflinger (mile, 4:19.52) and Marino (pole vault, 16-4.75) each taking individual victories.
Bucknell was also strong in the 400, with A. Dessoye, Rizio, and Bodisch all taking spots in the top five.
Jaden Rouse (44-10.25) was second in the triple jump.
