Men's Swim & Dive Fourth Through Two Days at PL Championships

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Bucknell men's swimming & diving team rose to fourth at the Patriot League Championships on Thursday at Navy's Lejeune Hall.
The Bison now have 150 points, two back of third-place Loyola. Navy (375.5) and Army West Point (285.5) have begun to distance themselves from the tightly packed field.
For Bucknell, Matt McGoey (200 IM) and Garrett Sommer (1-meter dive) scored fifth-place efforts; Sommer's score of 269.10 slotted him seventh in the Bison annals. In addition, the 400 medley relay team of Jack Rose, Ryaan Hatoum, Jacob Lubinski and Leo Kuyl took fifth while logging the seventh-fastest time (3:19.67) in school history.
Beyond McGoey and Sommer, six other Bison scored points. In the 'A' finals, Kuyl finished sixth in the 50 freestyle with Bucknell's sixth-fastest time (20.49) while Sean Quinn placed seventh in the 200 IM; Quinn clocked a time of 1:49.58 in the preliminaries that vaulted him to fifth in school history.
The Bison continue their time at the Patriot League Championships tomorrow. The preliminaries begin at 10 a.m. with the finals following at 6 p.m.
