KENT, Ohio – The Bucknell University men's track and field team competed on Friday evening in day one of the Doug Raymond Invitational hosted by Kent State.

"I believe the long bus ride on the day of the meet caused some of our men to be a bit flat," said Head Coach Kevin Donner. "We should have a better day two. I am very pleased with Falcioni's consistency the past three weeks, and making the final in a very strong weight throw was great. I thought our DMR ran very well to win and qualify for IC4As. Memoli ran a nice prelim in the 60 hurdles to make the final, although the final didn't go as well. He is getting some great experience."
Bucknell had a solid evening in the 5000, placing five runners in the top 10 as Connor McMenamin led the way as runner-up (15:11.17) to Nathan Dunn of Wright State. Domenic Campagna (3rd, 15:25.89), Evan Minor (4th, 15:34.73), Noah Martin (6th, 15:43.07), and Ryan Miele (10th, 15:53.12) rounded out Bucknell's competitors in the top 10.
The distance medley relay squad of Nick Pacelli, Sean Conway, Robert Dessoye, and Owen Chase took first place in the event with an IC4A standard of 10:10.00.
C.J. Falcioni posted a ninth-place finish in the weight throw (59-8.25), just short of his personal-best of 60-3 that ranks sixth on Bucknell's top-ten list.
Jack Memoli qualified for the finals in the 60 hurdles after running an 8.53 in the qualifying round, before going on to finish eighth (8.83) overall.
Micah Sims took a 13th-place finish in the long jump (21-9.5), while Ian Lawrence was 22nd (20-9.75).
The Bison will return to action on Saturday morning to wrap up the Doug Raymond Invite.
