Women's Track and Field to Compete at Doug Raymond Invite This Weekend

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell University women's track and field team will resume competition at the Doug Raymond Invitational hosted by Kent State Friday, Feb. 14 through Saturday Feb. 15.

"We are excited about heading to the Midwest and competing at Kent," said Head Coach Kevin Donner. "We will see some schools that we normally do not see, and I like going against those bigger public universities that offer scholarships. They have an oversized track that is conducive for faster times, and being two weeks out from the League Championships, the athletes are starting to really prime themselves. The coaches can also evaluate who will be competing at the league meet."

About the Bison
- The Bison wrapped up competition at the Sykes & Sabock Challenge at Penn State last Saturday, with several strong performances highlighting the meet.
- Karly Forker earned a place in Bucknell's top ten in the 800 (2:13.68) in placing fifth overall. The sophomore from Landing, N.J. now ranks in the ninth spot on Bucknell's top ten.
- Kaitlin Salisbury posted a season-best time in the 60 (7.59), her fastest time in the event since winning the event in back-to-back meets at the Patriot League Championships (7.50) and the ECAC Championship (7.52). The senior now holds the third-fastest time in the Patriot League this season.
- Valerie Fischer also had a solid day in the 400 in taking eighth (57.37), improving by nearly a full second from her previous personal-best set one week prior at the same track (57.37) Fischer ranks ninth in the Patriot League, and holds the second-fastest time by a freshman this season behind Navy's Molly Mangan (56.63).
- Alexandra Butz posted a season-best in the high jump (5-5.75), which ranks third in the Patriot League this season. Overall, the Bison have three athletes in the top five in the Patriot League with Michaela Bracken (5-5), Lexy Forrestal (5-5), and Butz. Bracken also holds the fifth-best mark in the Patriot League in the pentathlon (3300).
- Delia Sipe had a strong day in the shot put (45-9.25), just off her personal-best of 46-7.5 that ranks fourth in the Bucknell record books. Sipe also ranks second in the Patriot League this season behind Emily Mikoud of Army.
- Bucknell will have one more meet, the Bucknell Tune-Up on Friday, Feb. 21, before the Patriot League Championships on Feb. 29-March 1.
