- Bucknell won the team title by 24 points over host Lehigh at the Angry Birds Challenge on Jan. 11 at Rauch Fieldhouse, the site of the Patriot League Championships on Feb. 29-March 1.Â
- Bucknell earned two individual wins in the six-team meet that featured three Patriot League schools including the Bison.Â
- Nicholas Marino highlighted the event winners for Bucknell, tying his personal-best indoors in the pole vault (16-4.75) while going on to earn Patriot League Field Athlete of the Week for his efforts. Marino's mark ranks third in Bucknell history behind Matt Fay and 2019 Bucknell Hall-of-Fame inductee Dave Pomfret. Marino's height is also the top mark in the Patriot League.Â
- Also earning an individual win at the meet was Drew Dorflinger in the mile, who returned to the track for the first time since earning All-Region honors in cross country in the fall.Â
- The 4000 distance medley relay of Brendan O'Toole, Brian Kennedy, Brett Zatlin, and Owen Chase also earned a victory, while Bucknell's 4x400 squad of Steve Rizio, Alex Dessoye, Robert Dessoye, and Brendan Bodisch also earned a win to round out Bucknell's first-place finishes. R. Dessoye and Rizio were both a part of Bucknell's 4x400 squad that ran the eighth-fastest time in program history at the Scarlet and White Invite on Feb. 2 last season.Â
- CJ Falcioni had a strong day in the field for the Bison, earning a pair of runner-up finishes in the weight throw (56-2.5) and the shot put (52-4.5). Falcioni moved into Bucknell's top-ten list in the latter, posting back-to-back personal-bests.Â
- Jack Memoli, a sophomore, came within .01 seconds of tying Jason Brown for tenth on Bucknell's all-time list in the 60m hurdles (8.46).Â
- At last year's Gulden Invitational, Falcioni was named the Most Valuable Field Athlete of the Meet in sweeping the shot put and the weight throw, while Jeff Brown earned Most Valuable Track Athlete of the Meet Honors in taking second in the 200 (22.15), and earning a first-place finish in the 6.85.Â
- Bucknell will travel to two meets from Jan. 31 – Feb. 1, with members of the squad competing in both the Penn State National Invite and the Bison Open and Multi.Â
