Women's Tennis Claims Doubles Championships, Sends Five to Singles Title Matches

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell women's tennis took home titles in both the A and B doubles brackets, while sending five more to play in singles championships tomorrow.
Junior Cayla Koch and freshman Dax Seidlin advanced to the A doubles championship match and defeated Anouk Ma-Ajong and Lucia Seigford of Saint Francis 6-4 to take home the first title of the tournament.
The pair was joined by Daniela Bellini and Sofia Ayuso as champions, who defeated Saint Francis' Camryn Rossa and Romina Cutipa 6-2 in the B doubles bracket.
Bellini also has a chance to play for the A singles championship tomorrow following a 6-2, 6-4 win over Niagara's Andreea Peteu in the semis. Bellini will face fellow Bison Koch after she claimed a 6-4, 6-1 win over Howard freshman Yemisi Ifederu.
Seidlin will face off against Howard's Alexandra Blackwell in the B singles Championship following a 7-5, 6-2 decision over Erika Gonzalez of Niagara.
Representing Bucknell in the C singles bracket will be senior Jill Auteri. Auteri put up a 6-0, 6-0 win in the semifinal round against her teammate, freshman Maddie Rippa.
Lastly, Ayuso will face Howard's Dominique Alexander for a chance to take home the D singles crown.
The final day of the Invitational will begin tomorrow at 9 a.m. at the Varsity Tennis Courts, located behind Gerhard Fieldhouse.
