FINAL RESULTS
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Peter Bradbeer posted a 2-over-par 72 in the final round of the Macdonald Cup on Sunday, helping Bucknell move up one spot to a fourth-place finish in a 12-team field. The Bison closed the tournament with a 293 team score for an 866 54-hole total, which trailed only Minnesota, Princeton and host Yale.
Freshman Blake Wisdom was Bucknell's low man for the weekend. He shot 73 on Sunday and finished T-13th with a 54-hole toal of 217. Jason Lohwater also posted a top-20 finish (T-17th) after his final-round 74 left him with a 218 composite.
Bradbeer and Jackson Bussell, who finished up with a 74 after shooting 72-73 on Saturday, both tallied 219 to finish T-22nd.
Bradbeer made three birdies on Sunday en route to his second straight 72 after opening with 75.
In the play-6/count-4 format, the Bison tossed out a 76 from Josh Holtschlag and an 81 from Chris Tanabe. Bucknell's No. 1 player, coming off a win last week at Dartmouth, was undone by an uncharacteristic three triple-bogeys. Otherwise he was +2 on the remaining 15 holes.
No. 54 Minnesota ran away with the team crown with a 10-under total of 830. Princeton finished second at 854, followed by Yale at 860. The Bison finished ahead of Penn, Colgate, Harvard, St. John's, Fairfield, La Salle, Fordham and Brown.
Minnesota's Angus Flanagan closed with a 68 for a three-shot victory over teammate Evan Long. Flanagan carded a 6-under 204 and was the only player in the field with three rounds in the 60s (67-69-68).
After playing on four straight weekends, the Bison will take next week off and then host the Bucknell Invitational on Oct. 13-14.
